Our mission is to build the capacity and skill set of educators to serve the needs of the whole child.
There must be passion and commitment to serve children in public education spaces. Children deserve to have highly qualified, totally committed and culturally responsive teachers.
Without a doubt, in order for positive change to happen, a strong positive student-teacher relationship must be established, and an environment of caring has to exist. Building a mutual understanding of the students that we teach is just as important as building that same mutual understanding among colleagues and coworkers.
Conversations are needed that are critical, candid and often courageous. In order to have true collaboration and establish an effective and responsive educational community, sometimes hard work is necessary.
How can administrators and their teams become more effective in getting positive results and high outcomes in student achievement? We know that achievement and opportunity gaps narrow, close and can possibly be eliminated by improving the quality of instruction. Additionally, educational administrators, teachers, and staff who are culturally responsive can relate to all students in ways that promote academic achievement.
